The American news platform is often recognized for its powerful attempts to offer liberal-leaning content. Success is often determined by the sum total of dimes in your pocket. Through an atypical approach indeed, not only did Arianna Huffington successfully hop on as the founder of the well-known Huffington Post, she redefined the idea of success. Success that is capable of embracing 36 rejections. Success that expands beyond language impediments. One that encourages feminine empowerment.
Cultural norms form the grounds of the notion of success. Or rather, what our contemporary, yet unbending, society poses as success. Antithetical before anything else. Only if we choose to dwell into the actuality of our culture, can we unleash our innermost judgement. A judgement that was once able trigger the establishment, amongst many, of one of the most popular modern-day platforms. A liberal one. One that spoke beyond the mere boundaries of language. Being denied the permission to engage in something so straightforward as a debate, the author proved to be an eye opener in the rigid society that shapes who we are.
Unavoidably indeed, female entrepreneurs, across boundaries, have faced limitless restrictions in establishing a financial advantage. The daughter of a Greek journalist, an economics major, drew attention to the art of risk taking. With the undeniable pressures of societal critiquing, in alliance with a lack of business experience, Huffington emerged through a cluster of abysmal financial decision making.
Some may hold her professional status accountable for her failed marriage. When given the opportunity, the public face boldly expresses her capability to withstand societal criticism establishing the dynamics of the society we so proudly advocate for. Huffington centralizes the notion of personal growth irrespective of its emergence. Societal criticism, professional failure or even a fragmented marriage. With a commendable degree of courage, she not only tells her story, but uses her platform to uplift struggling woman.
The 52nd most powerful woman in the year of 2014 not only promotes the idea of embracing failure, but establishes her strength as a parent, politician, author and the various indispensable responsibilities one can withstand. Not only does she use her platform to influence societal norms, but additionally establishes a culture of fearlessness. The fearlessness that governs her success as a woman.
